Default Hot Springs to Max Patch Logistics

I am planning a short section hike soon(next month) from Max to HS nobo and am leaving a veh at each location. I need advice on what is the best route to drive to Max from HS? I see several country roads on maps but have no idea if they are regularly used or gated or ?? Anyone from this area with first hand knowledge would be appreciated!

Thanks Gambit! Are these roads marked? Any idea how long this particular drive would take?

Seatbelt it is not marked with a "max patch this way 6 miles" type signs like many other places are. In the last 20 minutes of the drive or so, if your not on gravel and going up....May not be going the right way LOL

There are USFS signs pointing to Max Patch from Hot Springs. Max Patch Road is a county/forest road. People live up there.

Harmon Den/Cold Springs Road (Exit 7 from I40) is another major access.
