OP is not worried about snoring per se, he is worried about dying.

ResMed has a small sub 1 pound travel CPAP that runs on a battery pack said to last 1-2 nights depending on pressures you run and how many hours you sleep. You would have to carry a couple battery packs and then charge.

I do not have obstructive sleep apnea, mine is central apnea. My heart stops several times per night for up to 8 seconds. Whether I am in my bed or in my tent, the risk is the same for me. CPAP does not help me. If I was OP, I would look into the dental prosthetic although they are like 3-4,000 bucks and often not covered.

    Hi-2New Knees
I just read this thread as I haven’t been on wb for awhile.
My concern is also about dying, not snoring.
My apnea is moderate or severe obstructive depending on which study I believe.
I’d like to try the mouthpiece if it would work for me.
Do you know if it works for severe cases? I will get a portable Cpap if I have to but the logistics are a pain.
The Dr. has said I can just go for a hike without Cpap but I don’t think he understands the fear involved.
    Thanks
    Debbie/akaSeaEagle
