Default Dispersed Camping - AT - in MA and CT

    Greetings all,

I hope you are safe and well.

I'm considering a three day trip from Salisbury CT to Jug End Road on the AT. I've read and heard that shelters, campsites and privies are closed due to covid. A. is this still true and B what about dispersed LNT camping in excess of 200 feet from the trail. I had been looking at Sages Ravine and Hemlock Shelter for my two nights with a car spotted at Jug end Road.

Is this the same for sites in CT like Riga or Brassie Brook Shelter also ?

So...there is the official line and then there is what most are doing. I've watched a number of youtubers on the AT moving through CT and MA staying at those sites. I'm not advocating to be a complete scofflaw but what's the real story on the ground ?

Our alternate is maybe a trip on the S. Taconic one ridge to the West.

    Thanks in Advance.

That's AMC territory. That should say it all.
