2021 Baxter State Park Opening Date
Anyone know when Baxter State Park will open for the year 2021? Could not find anything on their website.
Isn't that something that gets announced in May?
Assuming Covid doesnt impact the opening date, its still going to vary depending on the snow pack that forms this winter and how quickly it melts. There are some years where the park is open but the trails to the summit are not. If you go in the BSP subforum you can look at past opening dates. I think the recommendation is plan on June 15th start date.

I would suggest you pay attention to there website from March forward and see what they have for snow pack, etc. You can also set up a "google alert" to get news from them about their opening or general news from them. It will pick up any news article, press release, etc.Originally Posted by ncwild

Camping season begins May 15th. Katahdin trails usually open by June 1st.
