exactly. you can "tape" for that but that's really just a "bandaid."

Not unusual though. JPD had issues with shin splints starting out as well. She's off to a good start IMO. If she can sustain a strong pace for a week, my optimism will grow immensely.

Sorry folks, not going to leave this open. The states in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) have 14 day quarantines for travelers from GA, TN, NC (plus a number of other states). NH asks for self-quarantine 14 days before arrival. MA asks that out of state travelers quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. Normally I am supportive of these attempts, I was supportive of creating this sub-forum. I will not encourage these attempts when the conditions for travel would prevent completion as judged by the time the clock starts ticking.

A very typical move from her support person Warren Doyle, the rules don't apply to him.

    Default Mercury on the AT

I know Alligator closed the prior thread about Liz’ run. But I thought it warranted a note showing that the folks at fastestknowntime dot com are tracking her run. Is it possible to reopen the thread for discussion?

If she's unequivocally states she'll stop if the quarantines are in effect-maybe. But she also said she wasn't going to post to social media and I do agree with her reasons so I don't see why we should.

I checked in on this attempt recently Having traveled through VA, both Mercury and her support team were subject to the self-quarantine rules of NJ, NY, and CT as well as differing rules for quarantine in MA. They were in those states more than 24 hours. There was no mention of Covid-19 testing, which does not apply in NY and CT (no testing out of it), nor NJ but the self-quarantine is only expected in NJ. A negative test 3 days prior will get you into MA. Both VT and NH have at home self-quarantine options before arrival but those won't apply to this endeavor.

    Therefore no reason to reopen.
