Default Standing Indian Loop Trail Update

Looks like the GSMNP area is very crowded and I've heard the Foothills trail is the same way. I'm hoping to head towards WNC for some days on the trail around mid June. Has anyone seen or heard about the Standing Indian Loop trail crowd conditions?

    Thanks

Yes. Start at standing campground, hike the Kimsey creek trail about 3.7 mi to deep gap. Pick up the AT there. Go north to rock gap, road walk 1.5 miles back to standing Indian campground. Nice hike. Showers at the campground

Edit: realized you might have been asking about the crowded conditions on that section. It was back in March before the thru hike got bushwhacked.

I have hiked this loop at least 6 to 8 times over the last 15 years (I'm a local) during holiday weekends and thru hiker season. Never experienced any crowds. You will see people and groups of people, but nothing too crowded IMHO.

I’ve done it a few times, only experienced crowds during thru season at carter gap shelter...about 20 people. Normally pretty quiet. Great loop.
