Default Snow Forecast in the Whites today (9/8)

The summit forecast for Mt Washington today has about a 1" of snow in it. Looks like a cooler than normal week for folks trying to make it Katahdin.

Snow just melted out of Tuckermans. Maybe the glacier will reform?

Despite a bad forecast, including rain and mid-high 30's yesterday, it was partly sunny and somewhat pleasant on Washington summit yesterday (Saturday). We did prezzi traverse yesterday, no rain, gentle winds, mostly cloudy, perfect hiking conditions. I think we got lucky. Can't see any of the higher peaks today.

Yea, you got lucky. The front didn't arrive until last night. Kind of sucky out there today.

The impacts of climatic change are being felt and will likely get worse over time given the level of willful ignorance. Hard to argue with science unless one just likes to argue.

Current temperature where I live is 98°. Record high (in 1998) is 93°.
I thought September was when things start to cool off. And we haven't had any rain in a while, none in the forecast.
Wouldn't mind a dusting of snow about now.
