Default Woody Gap to NC Border

Please.....give me an idea of what the trail is like from Woody Gap to the NC Border? It is about 58 miles. Is 8 to 10 miles a day reasonable for a solo older female who is in good shape? I hope to do this in a few weeks...probably around the first week of October. I have hiked on the trail in Feb and April. Started out as a Through hiker and decided to do some section hiking. This spring 2020 I will do 2 or 3 months sections. Thank you for your input.

I am a male, so maybe discount my advice, but I know several "older" (most of the ladies I know are over 60, so older is a relative term) females capable of making 8-10 mpd on that stretch. Since you've already hiked some, I'll assume you've learned how much you can carry and what you need, so I won't throw in the usual caveats about pack weight and how that can affect daily milage. My guess is you could do it.

8-10 MPD in that section is very reasonable. I have seen many out of shape hikers doing 8 MPD in that area.
