    Heading NOBO from DWG Saturday planning to cover NJ & NY over the next 2 weeks.
    Any advice on bears & water situation?

    I'll meet you there! I'll look for the daisy patch! I am headed SOBO to Port Clinton starting Saturday!

    Bears are common in NJ and NY. If you see one. be happy, and then just be loud, they should just run away. all the shelters in NJ have bear boxes. Use them!

    I can't comment on the water, except to say that often, there trail angels that leave water at the road crossings. I would just say to get water when opportunity presents itself!

    Yes, use the bear boxes in that area. Had a few come up to the shelters and look in on me while I was in there. If you're not afraid of them, it's a fun experience but take precautions anyway. Y'all be safe out there! But mostly.... have fun! Oh yea, you'll run across plenty of water, but keep an eye your guidebook.
