This thread isn’t what I thought it would be about - literally lightweight paperbacks. But since I’m here I’ll suggest 1950s and 1960s pulp fiction mysteries. They weight just a few ounces and provide great entertainment. Available for a couple bucks at most used bookstores.

To be serious, I've gotten in the habit of taking a paperback and tearing out/burning the pages that I've read. The last was a short novel by Yan Lianke, "The Years, Months, Days."
I find it easier than carrying a Kindle, esp. since mine doesn't have a back light. But if I ever get to stay out longer than a week, I may use it as an excuse to upgrade to a Paperwhite and bring it along.
