Just got off the phone.
It's official:
Trail specialist reports many Baxter trails, not just Katahdin ones, will not open before June 15th.
Adjust your plans accordingly.

As much snow is still showing from I95, it doesn't surprise me.
I had to redo my plans last year due to snow. This year I booked my trips for July

Hmmmm. I have a reservation for a cabin at the Daicy Pond campsite for June 21 this year and am planning to go up and down Katahdin on the Hunt Trail that day. When I made the reservation three months ago it did not even occur to me that the Hunt Trail might not be open by then because I've followed your posts for many years giving the dates when that trail opens each year and June 21 is more than two weeks later than the latest date over the last couple decades when the Hunt Trail has opened.
I am now a little worried.

Good news. According to the BSP website the Hunt and Abol trails are now finally open. The Knife Edge, Cathedral and Saddle trails, however, are still closed. So the top of Katahdin can be reached from the west now, but not from the east or north yet.
