    Default Ronald "Stronghold" Sanchez

I thought it might be nice to shake off the fevered speculation and heated arguments and create a post in honor of Ronald "Stronghold" Sanchez, the hiker killed in last Saturday's incident.

If you knew him, feel free to share some memories.

If you didn't, you might learn a little bit about him (link below includes details of the last few years of his life) and write a tribute or describe how his life and death have affected you.

I'm hoping that posting this thread in the Straight Forward forum will keep it positive, compassionate, and focused on one of the victims and not Jordan.

Information about Sanchez is here: https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/14/us/ap...tim/index.html

The Trek posted this article today with a photo of Sanchez: https://thetrek.co/appalachian-trail...ck/?ref=slider

I did not know Mr. Sanchez but I am thankful for the many years of service he gave to our country.

Thanks RuthN! I read the Trek article last night. As an "Army brat," I lost one of my family members. There is an IG #ATStrong hashtag too and a community event on Saturday, August 18th to hike a trail and post pictures using the hashtag...if anyone is interested. ATStrong
