    Live nearby. Never heard anything negative regarding theft. I think they close the gate at 10pm. Should be a good bit more secure than parking at Elk Garden, downtown Damascus or Whitetop.

    If you pay to enter and park over by the beach/picnic area side there is a bath house with showers to use. I often finish hikes here and go for a swim and shower before hitting the road.
