    Default Kumano Kodo

This trail is an ancient pilgrimage through the temples and mountains of the Wakayama prefecture.

It has been recognized by UNESCO and also paired as the sister trail to El Camino Santiago

Mahalo. I couldn't remember the name of this. TU so much. It's a Top 5 on the international bucket list. Do you have a trip report? Doing more than one route really excites.

Go ahead, continue rubbing it in. First, the pyramid shelter now the sashimi.

Can you please do a trip report?

    Czech or Persian?

The historic starting point of the Kumano pilgrimage was at the Jonan-gu Shrine in Kyoto, where imperial pilgrims performed strict purification rituals before serting off on their arduous journey following the Yodo-gawa river to Osaka. We decided to visit this site. It was actually a pretty good hike through Kyoto to the shrine and back to the train station.

We ate some tasty rice triangles for breakfast. One with tuna salad and one with pickled plums.

One fun part of this hike, just like Camino Santiago is the collecting of stamps at various stages of the hike. Also carrying of good luck amulets...

Checked out a nice garden with cherry blossoms

Then picked up a lunch bento box for the train from Kyoto to Tanabe.

Now chilling on the beach in Tanabe. Found a hostel for under $50 called Takao. We hit the trail tomorrow.
    Cheers

The vending machines serve cold drinks but if you select a can of late it comes out hot! awesome

A small stand near #TakaharaJinja on #kumanokodo had amazing #mochi with sweet azuki bean paste. The vending machines serve cold drinks but if you select a can of late it comes out hot! awesome

What a trip. Frame up your pics well. That weeping cherry pic over the water is a knock out. Gotta hand it to you T.S. RU doing it with your SO/wife? Styling.
