Default Really liked my Lunar Solo on my first trip, wondered why not offered in DYNEEMA...

I am new to ground as i have been hanging for > 10 years but the interior space, vestibule, weight of the tent seemed spot on. A dcf version would weigh 16-18 oz i reckon. Just wanted to hear some opinions as to why smd hasnt considered it.
    thanks

Cost. It would at least double the price. You could ask SMD...

Smd made some prototype cuben shelters many ago.
I recall someone on BPL had a Cuben wild Oasis they sold them.

One of their stumbling blocks was finding people qualified to manufacture things out of cuben. They ended up doing it in house when they first did. And honestly they made some mistakes.

It's really a fairly crowded field and everybody has to find their own niche for the kind of products they can sell.

I found these two comments from "SixMoonDesigns" On Reddit, from two months ago :
We are also looking at expanding our DCF offering in other designs in the future and appreciate any feedback you may have on what you want to see from us down the line.
    and then :
We appreciate all your feedback in this thread and we are already discussing what models we might produce in the future based on what we have seen here. It sounds like this group really wants to see a Gatewood Cape and Lunar Solo in DCF, we have noted this and will keep you all posted in the future as things get decided.

Thanks for that info brother. Never had seen/read that. If SMD can keep the cost reasonable, i would
    definitely consider it

It doesn't answer your specific question, but they did publish a blog post in December about their experiences with cuben / Dyneema products.
