    Default CDT Class of 2019

    Hello everyone!

I will be thru-hiking the CDT this year. Planning on starting around April 18th to time walking into Silver City for CDT Kick-Off Weekend.
Any fellow White Blaze alumni be joining the CDT Class of 2019?
Without this forum, I would not have gained the confidence and knowledge to hike the AT in 2014.

I'll be getting closer to obtaining a Triple Crown, but I still have a BIG section of the Appalachian to finish up afterwards (Connecticut to Katahdin).
Best for last and all that jazz.

I will be hiking the NM section of the CDT starting somewhere around April 17-18th myself. I am getting close to the triple crown as well if you consider 5 more years of section hiking close...

    Hey Dogwood!

I'm starting the Israel National Trail at the end of February.

I'll probably be up to the Colorado-New Mexico border at the end of May.
If the snow situation is bad, I'll flip up and walk SOBO though Colorado.

I will be heading south from Chief Joseph Pass( that is far as I got last year-injured) .
I fly into Missoula on the 4 Jun and hopefully will be hitching down to the Pass on the 7 Jun.

Snowpack dependent: I have a tentative start date at Crazy Cook on 4/20/2019. The day before Easter.....

However, I just found out today about the Kick Off in Silver City, so I might bump that back a couple days now to make it, so I'm guessing there will be more than 2 or 3 people starting per day in the April 16-18 time-frame.

    Hey Latecomer!

My start date is now April 19th (because the CDTC shuttle does not run on the 18th).
If you are planning to take the CDTC shuttle, the mid-April dates have already sold old. The Hatchita Shuttle is close to selling out too!

*If anyone wants to share accomodations in Lordsburg on April 18th let me know!*

I just checked the CDTC shuttle schedule, and Sara is correct:

    A) The mid April shuttle dates are already (almost) sold out.
    B) It looks like there's going to be a huge Northbound class this year. Over 100 starting from Crazy Cook in April alone........

I'm coming down from Colorado and my parents are insistent on seeing me off from Crazy Cook, so because of that I'm flexible on the date / not dependent on shuttle availability and will probably still start on the 18th: This will give me 10 days at a leisurely 15 mi/day to get into Silver City on the 27th. It'll be a good warm up as I'm in no hurry.

To all I will meet: I look forward to meeting you. This will complete a 22 year odyssey for me / Something I never dreamed possible when I stood on Springer in '97.
