Potomac River Footbridge due to close today

The Goodloe Byron Memorial Footbridge is due to close this afternoon because of projected flooding on the Maryland/C&O Towpath side. More info at www.appalachiantrail.org/updates.

Thanks Lauriep. The day after x-mas I plan to head North from Harpers Ferry to Pen Mar park. I may actually skip the C&O canal portion (and head out from the Weaverton Cliffs lot) because I don't find that portion of the trail too redeeming.
