I have been lucky enough to have been gifted two new rain jackets, Outdoor Research Foray and Montbell Storm Cruiser....
Which one would you hit the trail with?

Go play in the rain. Report back.

You are the only person who will know for sure which jacket is suitable for you. Good luck!

I enjoy OR germents. I just got my second helium ii jacket and they have made it even lighter. They removed the external pockets to the inside of the jacket, removed the Velcro from wrists and removed the wire from the hood to keep the brim shaped. Not sure I will like these changes but I digress. I would go with the lighter one.

Storm cruiser. It's already a thicker fabric (20d) than a lot of go to hiking jackets, such as versalite (10d)
The Foray is a bit overkill for most purposes and isn't designed for typical hiking/backpacking. 50D

I have been gifted with a blue car and a red car. Which one should I use? Which one is "better?"

I direct you to the movie Used Cars. You will find the answer in the movie. And get a good laugh throughout the movie.
