Default Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Cadaques - Cap de Creus

In today's video we are sharing with you Day 7 of our Great Mediterranean Coast Hike where we walked from Cadaques to Cap de creus Lighthouse in Costa Brava.

It was the last final day of our hike and the plan was to get to the Cap de Creus Lighthouse and explore the area around it. And so we did getting on the 6 km trail leading to the Lighthouse. The day was overcast and we were ok with it knowing how hot it could get hiking in the sun. But we were still hoping for some epic views and great photos. First part of the trail was going on the car road then turning to the dirt road and then finally to a mountain path. The road part wasn´t too long though. On the way there were lots of uphills and downhills and the path itself was very rocky and unstable in some points. But knowing that you´re already walking on peninsula and from all the sides you´re surrounded by water made this trail really special. Soon enough we started to see the lighthouse up on the mountain top and it looked quite impressive from far. When we got closer to it though it didn´t impress us as much but the place around it was absolutely breathtaking. All those incredible rock cliffs, turquoise water lagoons, seagulls resting and behaving like home and yachts drifting slowly in the sea made this place one in a kind eco system. There is so much variety of relief and rock formations that you can literally spend the whole week there just grasping all that beauty and photographing every corner with the guarantee that every shot is going to be different. So it is definetely a must visit for any passionate photographer. And we were so dissapointed that we had so little time to spend and explore this place. So we´ll have to come back there at some point in the future. It is to be continued...

Nice. The only criticism I have is that the video is a little long for such a short hike.
But the scenery is great. I love European hiking with very old trails along ancient rock walls and so much history.
    Good job.
    Thanks.
Don't let your fears stand in the way of your dreams

That's one thing I took from your hike. TU so much for sharing your journey. It's so appreciated when others share International hikes or less hiked N. American routes. You're a great looking couple with good communication too.

Thank you for the comment! Yes, it can be a bit long, but we really wanted to show the beauty of the place and couldn't skip much. Definetely, it is a completely different experience.

Thank you very much for your encouraging feedback! So happy that you actually enjoyed watching it, hope that it will inspire you to come here Yes, we do tend to choose less hiked trails just cause we like to discover new places and show them to people. Having said that we hiked The Northern Way of camino de Santiago this autumn, but did it in an unconventional way

I've already blew the dust of my passport.

That's the way I'd go too, IF felt deeply compelled to bag a named XYZ ridiculously easy FLAT pastoral for the most part mass marketed commercialized mass appeal International route, the northern Pyrenees Route in an unconventional approach(carrying my own shelter and not staying and eating at albergues/refugios). This I think is better but doesn't have the XYZ acclaimed "Pilgrimage" recognition - HRP(High Route Pyrenees), G11 and G10. If wanting to bag the Camino de Santiago I'd Mountain Bike/Bike Pack it in about 8-12 days doing plenty of sightseeing along the way.

Yes, probably you´re right, there is too much marleting involved in this trail and that´s what pushes us away from it. That's why we decided to go the Northern Way and did exactly what you suggested slept in our own tent and cooked for ourselves. Also we were searching for the alternatives all the time, cause the Way had too many boring parts away from the oceancoast. Andthe GRs are great, we were considering of doing one of them next year, just can't decide which one
