Wondering if he didn’t fall and get hurt on the Mau Har Trail, which is super steep and rocky, not to mention full of water from whatever the name of that creek is

The Mau Har trail is a possibility, although the south side of Three Ridges is really steep, rocky and could be treacherous in bad weather. I know when I went down it I was glad it wasn't raining. The Harpers creek crossing could be difficult and is the only major stream in the area.
