Status of Ironmaster's mansion hostel

I got and update for my copy of "The A.T. Guide" and it said that this hostel is now open again. It also says the price of staying there includes breakfast and dinner. Is this true? If not, do they prepare meals that you can pay for?

According to The Companion it cost $20. For $25 they include breakfast and dinner. Hikers reported last year breakfast was Eqqo waffles and dinner was microwaved spaghetti.

I stayed there last year and it included dinner and breakfast - good-tasting sauce and spaghetti the night before and waffles and some sausage patties you do in the microwave for breakfast. Might e-mail them to see if that is still the policy.

Ironmasters will not take any through hikers on Saturday June 2nd because of a wedding. They have two prices when you can stay there. One is with Breakfast and dinner and the other is without it. I was looking forward to staying there. Bummer.

I stayed at Ironmaster last August last year, (SOBOing) There was a 20’s year old kid who pointed me to the self serve check in desk and then proceeded to evangelize me with Old Testament “truths”. An older guy came in later and waved on his way to the staff door. I made myself some dinner in the kitchen and was grateful to not have dysentery the next day. I was the only guest. Well, except for the mouse scampering around the living room the next morning.

Seems like this could be one of the best hostels on the trail, great location, plenty of room etc.

What’s the back story? Who owns it? Etc.

I stayed there at the end of April. Check-in as mentioned earlier was self serve, just fill out a paper and drop your cash through a slot.

You do not get home-cooked meals. Dinner was a frozen pizza that you heat up yourself. I didn't partake but everyone who had it didn't like it. I grew up on $1 Totinos so I would have liked it, but temper your expectations. I forgot what breakfast was, but it too was self-serve.
