    Default AT Access I-64 ?

Heading home from Richmond tomorrow. Will take I-64W over to I-81. Thought I might try to get a run in on the AT at the Blue Ridge Parkway North Entrance. Never stopped there before. Looking at a topo, it appears that heading south is somewhat flat. Is the trail entrance easy to find? Directions? Any advise will be appreciated!

Lightbulb I-64 to the Trail at Rockfish Gap

Check this link to a map of Rockfish Gap
    https://tinyurl.com/RockfGap
Basically, take Exit 99 of I-64 for US Highway 250, then head for Skyline Drive.
You can park at any place you feel safe leaving your car, which may or may not include what remains of this motel:

Just south of where Skyline Drive goes above Highway 250 is the entrance for the A.T., going south as it parallels the Blueridge Parkway.
Check this photo, noting the post with the double white blaze:

If you go down from that post, you're on the A.T.!

Yeah, if you go south from Rockfish Gap the trail is very easy and good for trail running down to Paul Wolfe Shelter.
It's all good in the woods.

And if you go north, it's not so easy.

Yep, Rockfish to Paul Wolf is pretty easy. There are a few easy bits on the AT, but not many

easier than, lets say, the top of wevertoncliff to the washington monument?

cause you not so long ago called that section deceptively difficult or some such.

Did a quick 3 miles. The locals do a great job maintaining the trail.

Went to Rockfish Gap Outfitters. Great shop with good prices. Wish I lived closer.
