    Default Pinchot Trail

I’m looking at this trail for a possible weekend with my nephew in July. Has anyone been out on this trail recently and if so how are the conditions? I know things will be a bit different in July but general information is helpful.

Several sections of the trail had brush removed last month, so it should be in good shape. Still expect some brushy areas. Due to beaver activity, parts of the trail is wet along Choke Creek. Rhododendrons should be blooming in early July. Have fun.

Also, the south loop has been rerouted to include more of Choke Creek, including the falls, and to eliminate all roadwalks, so its more scenic. Mileage is about the same.

Still about 26 miles Jeff? How is it for a decent winter weather window weekender? OMG, did I just write that?

Yes, about 26 miles. It makes for a nice winter trip. There's spruce, rhododendrons, and laurel to add some green to the forest.
