What are the best places to resupply between Dicks Creek Gap and before you reach Fontana Dam?

IIRC, Franklin NC is very close to being halfway between these two. It's a great trail town with outfitters and everything you need. Hitch or get a shuttle into town.

it's secret and lazy code for "if I recall correctly". You can fact check my statement if you would like. There is an online AT distance calculator. The main road into Franklin is at Winding Stair Gap. So you have 40 ish miles from Dicks Creek gap to Winding Stair gap. then another 50+ miles up to Fontana Dam.

Too funny. I'm hiking that exact same section (start and finish) next month in early/mid June. But I'm just going to "bite the bullet" and carry 6 days worth of food.

i will do food drops . i do not up charge on the food . i charge like i would if i were driving out to pick you up and take you to town .

Only place that makes any sense in that stretch starting at Dicks Creek is NOC and that's because it's on the trail. Dicks Creek to NOC is only 60 miles. Doable for anyone that's not slower than the average slowpoke.
