Tent Stakes

I don't understand why they put that loop of cord on the top of the stakes.
Just seems like extra weight and won't fit in my little tarptent stuff sack so well.
Anybody use these little loop stringy things for any reason?

They help pulling out stubbornly stuck stakes. Slide another stake through the loop and you have a sturdy pull handle.

The he loops on mine are reflective so it helps highlight stakes and the corners of your tent.

I have owned a set of fancy titanium stakes for years, but I have never used the stekes. I keep finding abandoned lightweight tent stakes along the trail. Sometimes picking up litter really pays off.

I've enjoyed using the Zpacks Sonic Stakes. They're very light and have held up well with my Gossamer Gear The One so far.
