Default Skinners for Long Distance Hikes

Has anyone used Skinners shoe/sock https://skinners.cc for a thru hike or a longer distance section hike. I am thinking about using these as I prefer to be barefoot.

    Thoughts?

I'm going to take a guess that they would not last long on the AT. I wen't through four pairs of running shoes on my thru. I saw a few people wearing sandals and thought to myself that was lunacy but in all fairness not sure how it turned out for them. The AT is a rugged trail. Lots of very rocky sections where, if you weren't on it, you wouldn't even think that it could possibly be a hiking trail.

I just read the FAQ section and hiking is listed as something they don't recommend you do in them. I could see using them as a very light weight camp shoe, water crossing and shower shoes.
