Default Anyone know when big game season (elk) is around the CT corridor?

Hoping to redo my failed CT thru....decided I’d prefer the cooler fall weather I experienced in September vs the heat of early July.....curious when hunting season falls and which section is most hunted. Blaze required?

Archery and muzzle loader generally are in September. Rifle seasons don't start until October.

Blaze is suggested but not required for non hunters.

    Yep.
A group of my coworkers has been making fall trip to CO to bowhunt for elk for 25 + yrs. They hunt near Silverton, very near CT I been told. They been in same area every year. I thought permits were hard to get, but apparently not for bow season. They dont indicate a lot of hunters.

I hear them a lot when camping and backpacking. We heard plenty of elk bugling in the Winds in September last year...it's a good time of year to listen to them

After driving by and not stopping since the mid 60s, I finally drove in and wandered around last September.
    “I’ll be back!”
Caution: Logistics are not conducive to a multi day Point A to Point B trip without 2 vehicles or pricey shuttles.
Southwest flies to Denver and Salt Lake City.
Grand Teton NP has a nice circular route that includes most of the Teton Crest Trail. Start/Stop at Jenny Lake or other low elevation lakes whose names escape me and my map is in another room.
The CDT from Old Faithful to Big Sandy Campground would be adventurous.
Too many trails. Too little time.
