This afternoon I puttered around and made an improved version of the neck loop I use to carry my botanist’s loupe and to keep my iPhone from dropping.

7/64 Amsteel cord, with sliding whoopie for adjustments, and a buried length of cord to stop the whoopie from choking me.

Spliced eye (made with Brummell McDonald) sized to hold the magnifier from swinging open when not in use.

Another spliced eye for s-hook for phone.

Whoopie allows phone to hang in pant pocket when not in use, yet can be tightened up to keep phone up and protected under jacket in wet or cold conditions.

(Excellent ceramic-bladed Backnife, BTW!)
