Default California members, what's the snow looking like?

I see from the water reports that snow water levels are way down. Just curious (as someone who doesnt live out there), how's this manifesting? A higher-than-normal snow line on the mountains? Or snow in fewer places? Warmer than normal, so you're getting rain instead?

Until yesterday in southern California San Jacinto, San Gorgonio and Mt. Baldy were totally dry. We've had rain yesterday and getting more today, so that will change.

Thanks postholer. Question about your Sierra Entry Indicator: the red dot is the "normal" Sierra date, while the blue bar is the "predicted" one?

Geez, I hate that word "prediction"!

A better description might be, " If today was April 1st the indicator suggests an arrival date at Kennedy Meadows." And that assumes an average melt.

The red dot never moves. It just marks the 15th as 'Ray Day'. Ray Jardines best time to enter the sierra in a normal snow year.

The blue line changes as snow increases/decreases. The more snow, the farther to the right. Less snow, like this year, it stays to the left. The blue line, the right end of it, marks the date to enter the sierra.

Low snow, enter earlier. More snow, enter later.
