    Default Free dog pack

    My old buddy is gone.
Miss Janet gave me this back in 09. It is an older ruff wear with the pack attached to the harness by Velcro. Red. Probably 50 to 60 golden or lab type dog.
Many miles left in it. Sentimental, but I want someone to get the joy I’ve had with my fur buddy.

My dog Job (rhymes with Robe) needs a pack for our 2018 thru. He weighs 68.4 lbs as of yesterday and is a mutt, a rescue his various vets have said is possibly a mix of lab, pit, ridge back and springer. He loves hiking and has been carrying a pack I made for him. He's a moosh - friend of every warm or cold blooded creature he meets. It would be very cool for him to have a pack with so much history.
We can afford to buy a pack. So perhaps you might put Job on the list just in case a more deserving dog and more financially strapped owner does not come along.
You're making a nice gesture in remembrance of your friend.

Admire you for passing it along...I was given a very nice Deuter Fox 30 by “Just Dad” on this site several years ago for my son. He’s recently outgrown it and was past along to my cousins young son. Just Dads only request was to pass along as he did....karma.....sure nice to see there are good folks still out there in this crazy world.

The loss of a good dog is a hurt that you can only understand if you've lost a good dog yourself.

    My condolences.

Well done on passing the pack along to a new owner.

Thank you. I hold back tears. Often. We spent many miles together on trails and hundreds of nights together in the tent. My loss is profound. There are bears and pigs, blizzards, and bees, high water crossings and so many adventures ingrained in my memory from our years together. I was lucky to have such a wonderful friend. I cannot imagine a more faithful and happy companion. He will forever hold a place in my heart.
I have struggled with giving his stuff away, but I imagine that someone else will share the joy of the wilderness with their animal friend and that helps. I loved him dearly.

They don't call dogs man's best friend for no reason. I don't look forward to the day our beloved pooch passes. I will be dealing with a devastated wife and my own sorrow at the same time. I have deep sympathies for people who go through this sorrow.

    sorry for your loss hootyhoo
just gotta remember the good times and know that pooch loved you, and didn't want to be anywhere else than by your side.

I could use it if Standing Bear did not get it.
