    Default 21 cent - 3 gram toothbrush.....

    https://www.minimus.biz/Generic-28-T...9904-0000.aspx

3 grams on my scale (For comparison - Zpacks with extension handle is 6 grams) Certainly not the best quality, but where else you going to find a regular sized .1 ounce toothbrush for 21 cents?!?

But shipping is $6.50 for orders under $250. That makes it kind of an expensive toothbrush unless your buying a lot of other stuff from them.

    I currently use this one:
    https://www.minimus.biz/OraLine-Kids...8401-0000.aspx
Not sure what the difference is, other than perhaps a more compact head.

I pair it with a cover that just covers the head... something like these:
    https://www.amazon.com/Travel-Toothb...B00HO1VO12/ref
But the one I use is one I stole from the kids... something I believe they got as a part of a kiddy toothbrush kit at the dentist office.

You should be able to get those tooth brushes for free at any local motel by just asking for a toothbrush because you "forgot yours".
    I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

I think you mean shipping is $6.50 for orders under $20:
    https://www.minimus.biz/Shipping-Policy.aspx

I usually have no problems spending $20 at Minimus.biz. I've used them a couple of times to resupply stuff for my 1st aid kit and purchase some of the 1 time use packets you can't pickup at the store or local fast-food restaurant.

I know I've purchased their jelly packets:
    https://www.minimus.biz/Welch's-Grap...4831-0100.aspx
Paired that with Jif peanut butter packets you can get at the store along with soft taco shells to make the kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the trail.

Cut the handle off of your current toothbrush and you have a "free" one. You should be replacing toothbrushes every few months anyway...

On a whim I weighed my Braun electric toothbrush brush head. It weighs 5.3 grams / 0.19 oz and is 2.75 inches long.

My travel toothbrush folds to cover the brush head and unfolds into a regular size toothbrush. It weights 14 grams / 0.49 oz.

Not regular size brush(but close to it) but Colgate WISP toothbrushes, I'll guess weigh about the same 3 grams, (NO, I'm not fetching my hyper digital scale to weigh one) and they each have a soft rubber pick on the other end. Two packs are found for about $1-1.29 at Dollar stores or buy a 24 count pack at Walfart for less than $5. "Toothpaste" already applied so no separate fang paste(or it's weight) required. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Colgate-M...Count/35017661

At that price hand them out on the trail. Trailname?...Brushy

Skimping on the quality of one's toothbrush and/or other dental hygiene items to save a few grams is simply absurd. Dentures and adhesive are a lot heavier than a full size "normal" toothbrush. Then again, you would save the weight of all those real teeth...

I doubt this is a toothbrush you'd want to use for an extended period of time. Hotels probably buy these to give to their guests.

I once made a tooth brush/spoon combo. Epoxy'd it together. Eat with one end, flip it around when done eating and brush with the other. It wasn't 3 grams probably closer to 7 or 8 but it served it's purpose.

This is definitely the way to go.. so you have a quality brush... I leave about 1.5 inch after the bristles, so I can get the brush to reach the back of my teach...

They work well.. uncle Johnny's had them

If I was doing mail drops for a long hike I would have a new one in each box.

I pretty much replace my toothbrush/paste every resupply anyways.

Cost about $1.50 for the travel brush/paste combo.

You know, you can always use a stick. Here is an article from the North American Journal of Medical Sciences where the authors report the results of a study that compared the effectiveness of a toothbrush to a stick. In case you don't want to read the whole article, the conclusion reads "Chewing stick has revealed parallel and at times greater mechanical and chemical cleansing of oral tissues as compared to a toothbrush."

Malik AS, Shaukat MS, Qureshi AA, Abdur R. Comparative Effectiveness of Chewing Stick and Toothbrush: A Randomized Clinical Trial. North American Journal of Medical Sciences. 2014;6(7):333-337. doi:10.4103/1947-2714.136916.

Of course if your are hiking the AT and you can't find a stick, you can buy one here for only $14.95 for two! (plus shipping).
