Thread: Imusa pot lid

    Default Imusa pot lid

I wanted a lid for my 10 cm Imusa and also wanted it to be non-rusting, durable and made of food grade material. That leaves out tin can lids, tin foil etc. I could buy one but where is the fun in that? I was over at Walmart and saw they had some Imusa 10 cm cups in stock. I also noticed that the rounded bottom of one fits into the flared top of another so I invested $1.97 in an experiment. I ground off the bottom rivet of the handle, then I put it on top of my other Imusa and drew a line around it where it stuck out of the top of the other cup. I cut off the bottom with a hacksaw and sanded the edge smooth to make a lid. I stuck some metal duct tape on to make a handle. It fits pretty well and weighs 0.5 oz

Neat. there are also some Pepperidge Farms gormet type cookies...and that lid also fits the IMUSA pot. Buy cookies....eat cookies, recycle can, repurpose the lid....

Now I feel foolish for having purchased a lid.
