Thread: Wide Print Maps

    Default Wide Print Maps

As anyone used an extra wide Printer to print out Jonathan Ley CDT maps? I print out a couple on the standard, 8 1/2 x 11 paper. It seem like trying to do any kind of land navigation would be extremely difficult on the stand paper. I want to see if anyone has tried using wide paper.

    Define wide paper.
    Cut sheets: 11x17? 13x19?
    Or wide rolls of paper?

Probably cheaper to have them printed to the size you want by a map service. Can’t recall the one I use at the moment (traveling and tired)

I was looking at least 11x17 but I'm not against getting something larger 13x19.

I wanted to see if anyone had any experience and if it made a different when navigating?

I used 11x17 7.5' topos on my Utah trek recently. (No established route, just under 650 miles). Worked better than 8x10 pages IMO.

    Thanks Mags,

So from your post, it might be a good idea to do for someone who has difficult seeing small print or map icons.

11x17, 2 sided printing and a means of keeping the maps dry.
    Good luck.
