Has anyone recently flown with there hiking pants on that were treated with permethrin and gotten thru the "sniffer" without issue. I know its a insecticide but I don't need something stupid like that screwing up my planned flight to go hiking.

Just so long as you don't smell like gun powder or C-40, you should be fine.

Or you’re a Geezer and you get to keep your shoes on and bypass the x-ray sniffing phone booth gizmo.

I haven't worn them while flying, but I have sent some permethrin-treated pants in my checked baggage, no problem.
In mid 2017 I flew into Hobby (Houston) AP for a Lone Star Tr shakedown thru hike and in Sept 2017 to New Mexico's Albuquerque Sunport AP for a 7 day Pecos Wilderness hike wearing permethrin treated apparel (shirt, shoes, socks, pants, shorts). No problem.

Hey Dogwood, why do you need permethrin in NM? Beautiful area. But hope you had a good time hiking kind of near my neck of the woods.
Yar, NM has phenomenal hiking.Being in Alb puts you within impromptu shorter trips of a much larger central and southwest region.
I have flown several times with permethrin treated pants and shirt and had no trouble with TSA.
I did. I flew fully dressed in my hiker apparel with the intent to pick up my pack from the checked luggage, take a shuttle, and then hike.
I flew thew security.
