Finishing section hike at Deep Gap. No cell coverage, couldn't arrange shuttle. Arrive at Deep Gap - two old guys getting off trail due to injury. Guy from Alabama arrives, needs someone to take his truck to Budget Inn in Franklin. Guess where my vehicle is parked?

Hot day, water scarce. Came to Deep Gap & found water and one banana. Simple gift - maybe the best banana I ever ate. I was so grateful.
