    Default Black Diamond Icon headlamp strap too loose

    Hi;
    I have owned a Black Diamond Icon headlamp for 5 years now. I like the lamp a lot, but now I find that I cannot adjust the straps so that it fits snugly on my head. The material the strap is made from is stretchy, but it doesn't return to its "normal" length anymore, so no matter what I do with the adjustment points, I cannot get it to fit right. There are two adjustment points on the strap, but if one pulls the strap to its tightest position, the headlamp is way off center, and it very awkward to wear.
    I run with the light, so it is a problem when it is loose on my head.

    Looking at how the strap is attached to the lamp, it does not appear that this is a replaceable part. I would need to cut off the old strap and replace it with new material, which would have to be sewn together.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Arden

    You are right. They were very helpful. Even offered me free shipping, but I had already placed my order when they e-mailed me the free shipping code. Good for another purchase though.
    Turns out that there are slits in each of the retaining clips, so taking the old head band off is not going to be a problem.
    I really should buy another headlamp just for running. The Icon is a bit too heavy with its 3 AA batteries. I should be able to get one that runs on AAA's that will make it much lighter.
