Default Predicting trail weather from local forecasts, area around midtrail marker

Wondered if anyone has a decent correction for trail conditions- I know from being a pilot one can deduct ~5*/1k elevation, but my seat of the pants tells me there may also be a further factor for tree covered mountains.
My immediate, specific need is to correct Fayetteville and/or Gettysburg temps for the AT thru Michaux SF which hosts the AT midpoint marker. From RV camping trips at the Northern end and Caladonia, it seems the area may run 10* below those forecasts and is a concern as that could put the end of my trip into the upper 30's for lows . Finding it hard not to carry too much but trying to cover sub 40* to 80* is worrying this geezer.

Comments about the weather there in general would be welcome too.

Here is a site that gives weather forecasts at various points on the AT

    https://www.atweather.org/forecast?m...&myShelter=144

Apparently NOAA makes forecasts for every 5 kilometer square area. This site retrieves those forecasts for various points on the trail.

If yur worried about 10 F
Consider forecasts can be quite wrong, both ways.

Last fall i walked in SNP in oct. Forecast was High 30s to 50 at night. 60s in day. It was 90s in day, maybe 65 at night. I could cite opposite examples too.

Bring insul for 10 f cooler than expect anyway to be cozy
