Hiking buddy November 4-10

Hi all,

I'm glad I found this nice forum with so much information on the AT.

I have one week off after a business trip in the US (I'm from Germany) and would like to spend some days hiking. I'm looking for a hiking buddy to share a shuttle/rental car and/or company on the trail.

The dates are pretty much fixed (Nov. 4-10, probably not the most comfortable time of year). I'm flexible in terms of location, as long as I can get to a Greyhound station or similar not too far from Washington, DC after the hike.

I'm thinking about hiking the AT in the Smokey Mountains (if I manage to get permit and reservations) or a bit further north to Hot Springs. Of course I'm open to other suggestions as well.

I have experience with week-long hikes in Europe, although it was never in November.

Please give me a note if you are interested or have any suggestions.
