Garmin eTrex GPS - $40

Goes for $85 new, only used twice.

Very basic display, black and white with roads only pre-loaded. Perfect if you get lost and need to bail out, and there's a free program that lets you load .gpx tracks and maps onto it. I used it to stay on trail while snowshoeing in the winter.
