replacement for sleeping pad valve cap

The cap to the valve of my REI Stratus pad got disconnected and is now lost. REI says it doesn't sell a replacement valve and that the Thermarest valve replacement kit won't work. All I want to do is stop up the valve after inflating it, but this isn't my area of strength to say the least. Anybody got a DIY fix? Thanks!

Return it. If it has been more than a year explain that you are returning it for cause. Be stubborn.
