Default Week long section in mid September

    Hey guys and gals,

After thru hiking the AT, I want to head out west and do a week long section of the PCT. I'm looking for some recommendations. This will be for my Dad's birthday (turning 60) and I want to make it as relaxing and enjoyable as possible (i.e. not very hard/taxing). Here's what I'm looking for (:

    1. Week long trip (70-80 miles)
    2. Decent weather (trying to avoid excessive snow)
    3. Mid September
    4. Amazing views (my Dad has never been out west...want him to see the best of the best!)
    5. And if possible, easy-ish places to get shuttled to and from the trail.

I know that's a lot of criteria, but I'm open to all suggestions!

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Horseshoe Meadows to Kearsarge Pass, about 45 miles, or exit Bishop Pass, about 65 miles. Kearsarge Pass dumps you out at Onion Valley. Bishop Pass takes you out at South Lake, both very busy trailheads.

My suggestion would be north from Snoqualmie Pass in Washington. But check on fires anywhere on PCT, unfortunately huge sections are closed due to fire.
