I did Pawling to Harpers, mid Nov to mid Dec, weather was not bad - for me better than summer - lots of hunters in PA, so at least I had a little human contact

He's into New Jersey now and apparently doing well. Two states to go, NJ and PA.
    From "Greybeard Adventurer" facebook page:

October 7 "I know it's been several days since my last update. I am racking up the trail miles my friends. Now have hiked well over 300 miles in the last three weeks. Still 245 miles to Finish at Boiling Springs PA. Except for the last mile [into Harpers Ferry]. If all goes as planned I will be completing that last mile on Thursday, October 26th* starting at 1000 am on the West Virginia side of the Maryland bridge. More details will be posted tomorrow. *-unless something I have no control over happins."

I just returned two days ago from hiking all but 20 miles of Pennsylvania. I sure hope he does well on the rocks. Some of those boulder scrambles are downright dangerous (Knifes Edge & Lehigh Gap for instance). Water can be a little scarce, too. They haven't had much rain.

Now 71 miles left to finish Dale Sanders' thru hike for the "oldest person to thru hike" record. He's looking good!

yeah, I have a while to grow up yet - wonder what the record will be then - I could ultimately see 90 as possible

Based on a Facebook post I saw yesterday, he should finish today at Boiling Springs. Then it's on to Harper's Ferry for that last mile, which he is saving for Thursday, October 26. Glad he made it!
