My wife and I started our end to end on July 15th and had an awesome adventure. We hiked for 3 weeks or so when our world was turned upside down. We were about 50 miles away from finishing, crossing route 15 near Johnson in the pouring rain, when we received a frantic phone call. My father was in a motorcycle accident on Saturday August 5th around 2 pm and passed very shorty after. Someone crossed into his lane and hit him head on. I'm writing this just hours before I see him laid to rest. He was my best friend, the one who introduced me to the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. We will return to finish at some point. The end seemed so close but now it's like it's almost forgotten, shadowed by this tragedy.
