Default AT Shuttle driver in Waynesboro Va - Lyle Kerby

Hello All! I'm reaching out because my uncle, Lyle Kerby, was a shuttle driver for hikers on the AT for 8 years. He provided rides in the area of Waynesboro, Va. He loved doing this as he was retired and he enjoyed meeting people from all over the country and hearing their stories. Lyle passed away on July 30, 2012 after a short fight with an aggressive cancer. He was still provided rides only a few weeks before his death. Last week, I found stumbled across a post on here where someone journaled about him being their driver and shared a funny and heartwarming sentiment about him. It truly made my day and brought a big smile to my face. I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone else on here remembers him and had a story to share. He always traveled with one of his very small dogs. He had Tooty in the beginning (a small red dog) but after she passed away from old age, he had Sam (some type of small terrier that was gray). Sam is still doing well and living out her days with my aunt, Lyle's sister. Thank you for entertaining a sentimental gal that still dearly misses her uncle.
