    Default Springer to Unicoi Gap

Hi - My son and I are going to make this hike next week before he heads off for his first year of college. Any advice on this section would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of any water sources that have dried up or any preferred camping sites I'd appreciate the feedback.

    Thanks in advance
    Willie

You shouldn't have any trouble with water or camping - there are plenty of both. Just take a guidebook and/or Guthook's app and you'll be fine. You can resupply 30 miles in at Mountain Crossings.

One thing I typically do is drink up at the creek at the south base of Blood Mt. and then carry just a bit up and over the last few miles to Mountain Crossings.
