That is only 4 letters. The OP indicated a 5 letter word. I've decided the word is screw...as in, I'm looking for a place to rip-off/fleece/swindle, etc. Which is way more indicative of character than taking stuff from a hiker box, IMO.

I ran into them and signed their tent. They were nice enough to talk to but they are nicknamed the Crack Head Crew for a reason. Glad I’m way ahead.
