Default Katadyn BeFree Leak Fix !

    [XFLOAT][/XFLOAT]Hi all,

I got a Katadyn BeFree that would not always seal, well it could but you'd have to tighten the cap with a death grip.... Then it was as bad or worse to remove and I have blacksmith size hands. This could be a real big problem in the winter. Yes I do filter winter water. Once is enough of that miserable sickness.

Solution O ring,.... Duuu Katadyn I hope you see this!
    1.3/16-ID x 1.5/16-OD x 1/16 thick Food grade silicone.

    part #S70025 at http://www.theoringstore.com/index.p...oducts_id=4716

Costs a whopping .11 cent each. Now they're going to fit tight so get 6-7 toothpicks and use them all to work it into position. Go SLOW with good light and don't stuff a tooth pick through the blue filter cage or you're buying a new filter. I've run my filter for a few weeks now with no problem. I wish they'd done this at the factory.

This is what it should look like. Yes my filter popped out, Katadyn needs to attach the Blue part to the White part better too. If your pack lands on it wrong it can overcome the silicone sealant but it has an O ring back up if your on trail.

    Hope this helps you too,
