Hello to all!
It has been a long time since I posted since I have been hobbled for quite some time.
This is going to be a long post (thought I should warn you) but could use your help.
I had to undergo surgery on my left foot a year ago to repair bad foot bio metrics, and other fun stuff. I am beginning to to walk on some trails, and have been working with a former PT who is an atheletic trainer to regain range of motion, and strength. I have been out hiking 4-5 miles, no pack, on dirt sidewalks, will start with some elevation gains soon.
My surgery has left me with 2 different sized feet. The repaired one has larger volume to it than the right. There are other differences that I will not get into. It is very apparent to me that backpacking with the same size shoe on each feet will not work. So.................
1) I can buy two pairs of the same boot, different sizes. Costly and wasteful
2) I can get custom made boots..........
I have scanned the usual suspects for Hiking boot makers, and would appreciate any suggestions. I know custom made boots will be heavy waffle stompers. I will have to deal with that. Hell, I feel fortunate and lucky to backpack again.
Is there any (I think I already know the answer) production companies that would sell 2 boots of a different size?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Any thoughts, or suggestions are welcome, even if I don't want to hear it. I always appreciate honesty.
I hope all are well, and are out enjoying the great outdoors!!!
Thanks,
misterfloyd
BTW, I live in NC
