More power to her. Hope she keeps good records so there is no controversy.
I think is a dude but not sure, didn't read that closely. I stopped following the other contender from this years batch of FKT attempts so wanted to share this with anyone who'd want to know. Seems like a good watch!
Yes, he's a guy. Also raising money for hunger . . . https://www.crowdrise.com/koltinhammer
Quite a few marathons and 1/2's and 10K's listed on the one page, but no LD speed hiking resume. Certainly being a conditioned runner is helpful, but LD hikes are quite different animals than one day trail runs.
He's an early-20's dude. Looking at his competitive results, he doesn't have what it takes. Matt Lipsey, has smoked him so very badly in every competition they have entered together that it isn't a long-shot, but a non-starter. Just look at the time difference in the Rock'n the Knob....Lipsey did the 20 miles in 2:46:01 and Koltin got it done more than an hour later at 4:04:33. I couldn't find any ultra-marathons or anything over 26 miles for Koltin. I wish him luck, but I don't see him as even close to being the elite athlete it takes to get it done in FKT fashion...Lipsey has what it takes to be an elite ultra-marathon trail runner...Koltin...not so much...at least not now...no comparison....
Just as interesting is the fund raise side of his hike, wondering if that's his main motove
22.3 miles behind Annish's theoretical 2 day total. I'd say this is just a fast thru, if that. That trail will humble you.
According to Instragram, THE HAMMER has done 58.3 miles in two days. Annish does that before breakfast ;-)

Yeah I don't think a record will fall with this fella
Here's the link to his facebook site with updates. https://www.facebook.com/Koltins-AT-...89632484810473
He's going NOBO
Day 1 = 31.4 mi
Day 2 = 26.9 mi
It's early yet but he's a bit off the pace.
Someone posted on Koltin's other Facebook site that Koltin was at the NOC today (the post was 5 hours old).
So at the time of the post (12 noon) that would be day 4.5 at mile 137.1 = 30.46 mi average per day. Not lookin too good but it's good to know that he hasn't thrown in the towel yet.
