Spent the day at Magee Marsh in NW Ohio. I know that is a long way from the AT, but if you're into birding you need to check it out.

The shortest path across Lake Erie is from Magee Marsh to Point Pelee, Ontario. An enormous amount of birds gather at Magee Marsh to feed before flying across Lake Erie. While I "only" saw about 25-30 different species of birds today total, apparently under the right conditions you can see over 30 species of warblers in one day. The 2nd and 3rd week of May is about as good as it gets for songbird migration. It is known as the Biggest Week in American Birding.
